Ellen Olive
RLM Worship Leader
RLM Worship Leader, Ellen Olive, has led retreats with Carla since 2010. Representing two generations of women, they lead together in such a way that creates a spirit of oneness and harmony throughout the retreat. Each using their God-given gifts and talents, they balance each other with grace. Ellen believes that worship songs are simply prayers we sing to God, agreeing together about His love and His goodness. Through worship, we acknowledge His position on the throne (even know He's already there), and we invite Him into the retreat (even though He's already there!).
When asked about her favorite part of leading worship at RLM Retreats, Ellen answered, "I never tire of watching women get away and breathe deeply and get real with one another. There is something so powerful about watching walls break down, generations of women connecting, sin coming to light, and truth being soaked up. I am always so honored to be a part of it."
Ellen leads an acoustic worship set with a variety of songs ranging from classic hymns to recently written songs. Ellen sings regularly for Community of Faith in Cypress, Texas, Chapelwood UMC in Houston, Texas, and with her music partner for indie-folk duo, Olive and Willis. When she is not singing, she can be found riding bikes with her husband, Randy, walking her yorkie dog-child, Ollie, or doing hot yoga
